Hi Keith, My mistake. The last time I checked was over a year ago, and the price was higher then. I didn't think R-12 would ever come down in price. I bought my last 30 lb cylinder before you needed the license, and it was $275. I was trained by Goodyear in the late 80-'s on A/C work. I also have the study book on the license, but have never followed through. Probably because I still have some R-12. I probably should go ahead and get it, as you have a very good price. I saw some on ebay, mostly partial containers. The full ones were $525-$575. This site lists them for $700 http://autorefrigerants.com/ . They also sell a supposed replacement for much cheaper. Funny that I didn't see a reference to the license. Sounds suspicious. 300ly, Don ----- Original Message ----- From: Keith Boonstra To: Don Verity Cc: Jonnie ; chrysler300@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxx Sent: Monday, June 20, 2011 1:29 PM Subject: Re: [Chrysler300] R12 A---collant Retirement sounds like fun, so I wish they were $800, Don. Check on Ebay. I just sold a couple of my 30# tubes to a local A/C shop for $325 apiece. I've depleted my supply quite a bit over the years, so I'm not really anxious to part with much more. But if you show me you have a certificate I'll ship you one for $325. You've got to add for the shipping charge of course - maybe about $50 Keith - On 6/20/2011 1:11 PM, Don Verity wrote: I don't know where you get R-12, but if you can get it for $300 for a 30 lb cylinder sign me up!!! The nice part about using R12 in your mid-fifties car is that your entire system - especially the condenser - was engineered around the use of the R12 type. And that compatibility will likely give you the very best results with respect to both cooling performance and long-term maintenance.
