If you are using non-original wheels be certian that you do not have interference between the rim and the brake drum circumference.  Any contact there can distort the brake drum at each contact location and cause a fairly high frequency vibration, maybe sounding or feeling like the rumble strip on the pavement's edge.  I have seen that condition.

HI GANG.MAYBE SOMEONE CAN TELL ME. WHEN IS STEP ON THE BRAKES AT 35 MPHI GET A BAD VIBBRATION IN THE STERING WHEEL. IT FEELS LIKE I AM DRIVING OVER RUMBLE STRIPS IN THE ROAD. I HAVE CUT THE REAR DRUMS AND REPLACED THE REAR U JOINT. ANY IDEAS. THANKS JOE LUCIANO 62 SPORT CONVT.
