It is a popular misconception (correctly spelled?) that European sold 300s had KPH speedos. My summer car, a 300F imported straight to Continental Europe had MPH and it likely was the original speedo. Raphael Brunet, who has looked at most 300s in France, have never seen one with KPH either if I recall him right. I have seen some NewYorker etc varieties (200 KPH), but never anything with 240 KPH.

 

Bottom line, Niels’s car might very well be new in Europe with a MPH speedo.

Hi Keith,
the car has a MPH speedo, so it is imported to Europe sometimes later.
Does somebody know to whom the new car was delivered?

I´ve send some pictures to Bob today.

Hi Niels,

Does it have an MPH or a KPH speedometer. That would indicate whether 
it was exported originally as a new car or later as a used car.
