Antonello, you should post it to the club server to keep the discussion going. Would also love to see some photos, e.g. like the ones Bob Merritt has linked to. My (now previous) 300F was a very early car (4th made?), marked for export and appeared in Europe in November 1959. Possibly the km/h speedo came later in production on exports? regards, Narve (will be off-line the next 3 weeks) Fra: Antonello Jelitro [mailto:antonino.jelitro@xxxxxxxxxxxxx] Sendt: 13. november 2011 12:26 Til: Narve Nordanger Emne: Re: [Chrysler300] Fw: WG: Stainless Steel body? I have several Mopars sold new as export cars: my 58 NY has a 240 kmh speedo , my 57 DeSoto Fireflite has a 220 kmh. The 300 F conv sold new here also has a 240 kmh speedo, and the 300 G sold new here but later exported to US and now residing in a large Mopar junkyard also has a 240 kmh speed. It all depends if the car was ordered from a Chrysler agency or exported privately. If ordered for export, a kmh speedo was supplied. ----- Original Message ----- From: Narve Nordanger <mailto:narve.n@xxxxxxx> To: Chrysler300@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxx Sent: Saturday, November 12, 2011 11:30 PM Subject: SV: [Chrysler300] Fw: WG: Stainless Steel body? It is a popular misconception (correctly spelled?) that European sold 300s had KPH speedos. My summer car, a 300F imported straight to Continental Europe had MPH and it likely was the original speedo. Raphael Brunet, who has looked at most 300s in France, have never seen one with KPH either if I recall him right. I have seen some NewYorker etc varieties (200 KPH), but never anything with 240 KPH. Bottom line, Niels’s car might very well be new in Europe with a MPH speedo. Hi Keith, the car has a MPH speedo, so it is imported to Europe sometimes later. Does somebody know to whom the new car was delivered? I´ve send some pictures to Bob today. Hi Niels, Does it have an MPH or a KPH speedometer. That would indicate whether it was exported originally as a new car or later as a used car.
