[Chrysler300] Carb bowls

Hello Group. Who can explain the bowls inside of each carb.Mine were rusted
with holes,so I took them out.My engine guy says"they don't matter".Why are
they there,what purpose. Any help to clear this up will be greatly
appreciated.Travis 300G
