Re: [Chrysler300] Disc brakes

I think one thing most hobbiest forget is that drum brakes contain a "residual valve" which holds a specified amount of pressure in the line to keep the linings in position near the drum. In my previous attempts to (retain originality) or install combination brakes (on mexican road race car) or use existing Masters on a disk brake setup; we had lots of problems with this (the discs were dragging). We, as I recall had to locate a dual Master cylinder (of the correct volume ratios) which was used on a car which had discs front and drum rear and it worked very well. (not an easy task as most dimensions for OEM cylinders are not published or we could not find them [pre internet])
If you recall there were a number of years in the late 60's and early 70's where most cars and trucks had the dual brake set ups.

I recall previous discussions of this problem that led to an addition to the
cap of an extended small diameter tube and cap that would allow filling
using a turkey baster. Sort of like the fill tube on an automatic
transmission-level perhaps checked with a dipstick? One would think that
AAJ would have worked out this problem already.

I am in the process of installing a system From AAJ on my 300F. I have done
a test fit of the master cyl and am finding it will be impossible to remove
the lid supplied (mopar cyl). Is there an alternative cyle or a cap with a
lower profile? I have the canister style booster.
