Hi All,

It sounds as if that's a common problem.  I have a '64 Newport that has wiring damage.  I will be looking at that more carefully to determine the cause of that very old damage.  The system still works and several years ago I did some inspection to try to determine it to be safe for continued operation.  So far no problem, but I'll add the fusible link if there's not one already there.  Thanks Rich for sharing the experience and especially for the benefits of your research.
