Regarding this G convert, the more I looked at the pictures, the more familiar it began to look to me. This 300G is a local San Francisco Bay Area car that was owned by a local collector (Bob Hegeman) who passed away about 3 years ago. I visited with him about 4 years ago and had a chance to take some photo's of the car then, and talk with him a bit about the restoration. At that time he did not have the car quite finished, and it looked pretty much the way it does now. When I compared the pictures I have to the car listed, they are literally the same. As I recall, he had a fabric top installed instead of the original pin point vinyl, as that was his preference, and may have changed the top color to black, not sure on that. I did take pictures of the Trim Code plate, but the plate is very hard to read. I know he put a lot of money into paint and chrome, and I suspect the reason the details are lacking is due to his untimely passing. Bob was a great guy and really enjoyed MoPars and the hobby in general. I also recall the car was originally listed in Hemmings back in 2004 or so, and it had been stored for many years before he bought it, and it needed everything but was a solid rust free California car to start with. I remember calling on the car from the Hemmings ad, but it was already sold to Bob when I spoke to the seller. If there is any interest on the part of any persons on the server to see my pictures of the car, just let me know and I will email them to you. I hope it’s a rust free CA body for that price! It seems like it was a fully equipped car. Has a vacuum door lock switch above the radio...but there’s no convert top boot?? Wire wheels are not and were never optional on a G. The engine compartment is a mess of things wrong. Red heater hoses? That shows a complete lack of research on what is correct. Hose clamps are all worm style, blue ignition wires, and what is the green thing by the washer bag? Two of the dash gages are also 62 style. If I had the money to buy something this expensive, I would at least want everything to be correct. But maybe that’s just me, maybe pretty is all that matters. Don Verity 300-G consultant.
