Hi Matt, I assume the '62 is the same as the '61. If so, check the actual switch with is located on top of the steering column just below where the column goes under the dash. There is a simple rocker switch held in place with a single philips head screw. There is a roller on this switch and the wires sometimes break or come apart. I think the switch can be repaired sometimes. Hope this helps.
