Re: [Chrysler300] 1962 Turn Indicator Switch Question

Matt,
The canceling switch is located on the steering column just forward of the column-to-dash mounting point. There's a single wire plug on it and the switch has a little roller on it that feels for a "dent" or cam effect on the steering shaft. When the roller falls into that dent when turning the wheel, it activates an electromagnet in the turn signal switch and cancels the signal. When I built my H, my roller was worn flat and the switch was always activated. I replaced the canceling switch with a switch from a parts car, and the issue went away. So, in my opinion, first check if the single screw holding the canceling switch is tight, then check to be sure the wire terminal is in place, then check continuity between the canceling switch terminal and the turn signal switch. My money is on the roller. Keep us posted.

Subject: [Chrysler300] 1962 Turn Indicator Switch Question

Trying to get the turn indicator slide switch to stay...as I have to hold it
eft or Right when activating.
The indicators died altogether.
replaced the Flasher Unit under the dash...which allows them to light up again
nd blink, but the lever will not stay in position...until the turn is made and
ancels them.
Any suggestions on what might be wrong in the switch...that I can fix?
hanks!
