I belong to another Forum which was sued by a vendor whose product displeased someone. The individual and the owners of the website were sued by the vendor. The problem was that even if the case was "iffy" and marginal, they had to hire a lawyer to defend themselves and settle (which they did) . Since then, they do not mention names at all-but usually you can send the author an email and find out who he's talking about.
I woud not mention the individual's name.
