Re: [Chrysler300] 300B Power Steering Question

Jim,

If you are getting a "vibration" when turning the wheel it may be the high pressure hose.  Did you have one made or find an acceptable item?

The original hose has a reducer about half way through and I think this has something to do with the vibration or noise.  I've found a hose "Continental" brand as I recall that works but fitting on one end needed to be changed out.

I took it to a local shop, The Hose Man, and this was easily taken care of.  With the use of this modified hose I have no noise or vibration.  If you need the part # I can check my parts room later today when I arrive home and advise.

Subject: [Chrysler300] 300B Power Steering Question

Hello to all:

I had to replace both hoses on power steering pump as they were deteriorated and started leaking, especially the high pressure hose. New hoses attached and now the PS system "groans" and makes noise. Seems to work OK, i.e., power steering works. It was completely free of noise before the hose change. I suspect air in the system. I removed top fill cap and drained a little off the reservoir as it was full to top. I ran the steering wheel side to side at a little above idle speed. I thought I'd see bubbles or the system trying to purge itself. No success. Shop manual doesn't help much.

Any suggestions or comments would me most appreciated.

Thank You Kindly
