Brandt:

In reply to your question below - I have a suggestion - tell Greg you
want your money back, and find someone who actually understands these cast
iron transmissions. There are explicit instructions in the service manual
as to how to set and adjust the transmission and if you follow them, step
by step, you will do it successfully. When I had my G redone in 1998, the
guy who put it together was put off when I told him I wanted him to follow
the manual step by step, and I wound up in the car on the lift, holding
buttons in while he did the cable, but I have never had a problem and it
has worked like a charm from the first shift back then to today.

Telling you that "This is what happens when these things get old" is
hardly an answer. Hell, they are all old, and they still work. Also,
getting it "close" isn't something a real professional would settle for.

I'm not sure where you are located but I'll bet there is a club member
somewhere near you who has had a cast iron transmission rebuilt, installed
and/or adjusted successfully. That would be the person to get a referral
from. Strikes me that if this is the third rebuild you have done on the
transmission, somebody isn't doing something right in any event.

Regards,

Pete Fitch

Any suggestions out there as of what to say to Greg? I hope he has an open
mind because Melissa (my G), needs to be fixed!!
