i for one will be looking forward to it. Which
leads me to ask one final question because i know this is not meant to be a
course in automotive technology but why do you even need a torque converter -why
could you not just bolt the crankshaft to a drive in the trans to run the
pumps? If the vanes speed varies with engine speed and presumably also varies
the pressure to the trans , why do you need fluid to run the trans instead of a
direct drive. The engine in my farm tractor runs the hydraulic system with a
gear drive-why not run a car the same way. Sorry, but inquiring minds want to
know. Maybe somebody else has also had the same question.
