Guys,
I know there are gear heads out there more
in tune to what is happening in the motor world than I. AND in a nod to
the internet, I have done some searching, etc, but wish to gather some ideas
from those whose opinions I value more than the "unknowns".
The new 392 cu. in. V-8 by Chrysler is
obviously different than the 392 of 1958 300-D vintage. With the aluminum
heads and cast iron block, how are the new engines over the long haul for
maintaining the seal? Different expansion ratios and all that. Early
efforts seemed to guarantee a head seal leak sooner or later, but I am told the
new gaskets are developed to where that is a thing of the past.
Next, does anyone own and drive a new Dodge
Challenger SRT8 with the 392? If so what are your impressions? I
have test driven one, like what I felt, etc, but obviously did not get to really
get "into" it for the test drive.
Much thanks for your considered
opinions. I am hoping to add to my store of knowledge and make a
considered decision in the next very few days.
