my thinking is that they are using a multi-layer sandwich type head
gasket, that was the 'fix' for the first generation Neon 4 popper.
Test Drive Impressions. I think the computer in the new cars 'protect'
the motor from lead foots for the first 5000-10000 miles. SO it really
doesn't hit it and git it until it passes the preset 'breakin' mileage.
I have read reports where even the gas mileage improved once that point
was hit.
