Re: [Chrysler300] Best New reproduction Wire wheels to match 1954 New Yorker Wires, with locating pin hole between lug holes.

MotorRim wires were what Chrysler offered.  They were a 48 spoke wheel on a 4.5" bolt pattern.  Imperial and wagon wires of that era were 52 spoke on a 5.5" bolt pattern and were wider  by 1/2" as I recall.  I state this so you will know the difference when looking for aftermarket wheels.

There are a few places selling aftermarket "repro" wires but the spoke count will probably be 52 and the center wheel hub is different.  Stock caps will fit them with no problem.

The newer wheels can be run tubeless and probably run more true than originals but to me they don't look right.  One other item is spend the $$ and get stainless spokes, or IMO keep your originals and take care of them and save some $$.

I think the lug bolt-nut change came somewhere between 1954 and 1956.

Hi from Downunder to all our 300 friends,

Looking for best suggestion as to closest reproduction of a 1954 New Yorker Wire (set of 5) currently available, best quality chrome with diecast caps etc. What is the typical New reproduction option taken up by club members looking for the reliability of a new wheel…..I want to store my original set away for special occasions!

Also can somebody tell me when lug nuts replaced bolts, our car has wheel bolts.

Just wondering the best & most reliable source, with prompt turnaround for show quality wheels,

Also, if you are looking for closest to original tires, what would one suggest?

 Best regards
