I used the spray on stuff. Either way, after applying, let the paint dry for a day or so, and carefully install the manifolds without scratching or damaging the paint. Fire up the engine and let the paint cure by the heat. You'll smell the curing paint for several miles and several runs. When I did mine, I also put some manifold paint on the bolt heads to protect them from rusting.

Looks like they (eastwood)have a brush on paint also.
