Hi Dave,

 

I have had good results using Cast Iron Gray paint from Bill Hirsch.

About a year ago I used it on my H manifolds on the engine in the car.

The only prep that I did was to wipe down the manifolds with acetone.

This week I used the paint again on another H exhaust manifold that I was able to clean down to the bare cast iron surface.

After brushing on two coats of the paint and letting it dry for a day, I placed it in my Weber grill at 500 degrees for several hours to cure the paint.

I am happy with the results.

I considered using the kitchen oven, but decided that might get me into a lot of trouble!

While I have the exhaust off the F I want to sandblast and paint them.

What, if anything, have others used for this job?

Interested in results and long life.

Not interested in sending tem off somewhere.

 

Still looking for input on routing of transmission cooler lines on a J or Ram K.

How about one of you J owners raising the hood and let me know if they lay on top

Of the header support or are routed under it please.
