My two cents. I feel that the guides are just that - guides. They don't purchase cars. Unless you see the money change hands you don't know what price was paid for the car. Auctions are some what helpful if you saw the car and know it's true condition. Do NOT believe what the reviewer writes in the magazine reviews. I believe $160k-180k is very strong price for any(non-special order) letter car convertible; unless it is a true body off #1 show car. At the BJ auction this year a very nice G Conv sold for $95k and I am aware of a private sell where a true #2 rust free California car, fully restored body on frame, brought $105k. In my humble opinion, in this market, these prices are more realistic. For what it's worth. Jay

somewhat inflated compared to what I see in Collector Car Market Review (http://www.collectorcarmarket.com/),
which is the guide that I use. The latter seems to mirror the selling prices for
cars that I watch.
