Re: [Chrysler300] 300C trunk license frame ; ATF

Will be at Carlisle Thursday afternoon/evening and Friday morning.  Would like to score some 15" wheels with 4.5" bolt pattern.  Let me know if someone has any at the event please.
Thanks,

Hi, gang!

We are well along on our 57C, J-Y really cranking, but as we are reassembling , we found that we do not have a trunk license plate frame, and apparently never did. Pictures were taken of everything sent to chrome by J-Y ( a very smart thing to , vs. issues later) ---and no frame was sent. So, none came back!

So, obvious lead into the question: Anyone have 300 C plate frame ---either good , or needing a fluffing ?  License frames are out to get me, F one almost did…3-4 x.

Do other cars interchange, like NY’er?  58?

Thanks, John G

PS second question, but first one is first, -----after a long go around , a few years back, ( context of JEEP 4.0 transmission change (A518?) )  I found that very recent ATF 4 from Mopar was best stuff for us; but memory a little unclear on details, want to throw  out the question and info. Reason was synthetic base in latest stuff holds viscosity from very cold to very hot, and that viscosity is a little thinner than the older fluids(to pass finer filters without pressure loss) . The problem they were after is cold fluid, and a finer mesh filter( ? part of 100k warrantee)  can cause low flow, in cold weather, trans problems. (aka, slow to engage when cold) This led to “have filters changed ?” ,and as best we can tell,  our old reliable 727 (904, A518, A618)has a new finer mesh filter for this ATF, if you buy today, allowing the 100k miles or whatever it is now warrantee. This from memory, but spent a day around SAE sites on mopar atf evolution; One can see accidental trouble if this info is right, particularly a brand new finer filter with old style fluid …which would not happen except in restored old car ….and while not right, might still work..or might not be as good as it ought to be  There is an ATF 5 maybe 6 , huge bucks, but not related to anything we need to worry about. It says on bottle (mopar bottle)  ” replacement/upgrade for all prior ATF mopar fluids” or something like that. I hope I have the 4 and 5 right, but gist of this is right. So MOPAR spec atf 4 ought to be great for cast iron and 727’s ..an upgrade, no matter what filter. I never could keep straight whether type F or Dexron was the good or bad one before..This is easier.
