In 1966 I was 25 years old, and I wanted a 300H. I had been influenced by Tom McCahill of MI. I found a 300H in Pasadena and bought it for $1800. It was dirty and the seller, a Chevy dealer was very anxious to get rid of it. It took me almost a year to get the title. I discovered the owner was a Naval Aviator who had been shot down over North Vietnam weeks before . Navy did not pay his life insurance because no one saw the aircraft impact the ground. The Navy that pays his paycheck discontinued all payments because no one saw a parachute. The widow sued under Soldiers and Sailors Survivors Act which is why the 300H became a hot potato. The young widow subsequently died, leaving a teenage daughter. I have been told she committed suicide. The teenage daughter said she will never again pledge allegiance to the American flag. I kept hoping the owner would return as he was MIA for years. This morning, out of the blue, I heard from a son I didn’t know existed. Jim was 11 when his dad was lost. He does not live in the US. What a pleasant surprise. __._,_.___ Posted by: Michael Moore <mmoore8425@xxxxxxx> To send a message to this group, send an email to: Chrysler300@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxx To unsubscribe from this group, send an email to bob@xxxxxxxxxxxxx or go to https://groups.yahoo.com/neo/groups/all/manage/edit For list server instructions, go to http://www.chrysler300club.com/yahoolist/inst.htm For archives go to http://www.forwardlook.net/300-archive/search.htm#querylang __,_._,___ |
