That is on 392—thank you, never noticed that, although I had much hassle with finding matching pulleys for D resto that had no pulleys.(300D 392 had been in boat ) --- and it makes sense ; Do you know , is that true of 413/440? ‘’’’
Of line I sent Jamie Hyde an email about 440, 400,413 383 pumps and questions. Very confused space on all the variations ; we often get wrong stuff matched up on B blocks .
We need a chart or something, with physical descriptions as well as part numbers . Not just pumps but casting they fit and spacer or backing plate. Easy to get wrong things, then a real pain to do twice. Of have marginal cooling

Actually, an AC pump has 6 veins on the impeller and non AC has 8. The reason for this is the AC crank pulleys are higher ratio to turn fan at higher RPM for better cooling. I have a 57 non air car and a 58 AC parts car. The AC motor had larger diameter crank pulleys. This would run the fan faster.

Since you have it apart, visually compare.
In most cases the impeller is what is important. Usually an A/C car has bigger and maybe more blades on the actual pump that goes into the housing.A standard non-air pump will fit and not move as much water, making it run hotter.

300ers,
I have the car disassembled in the driveway. I removed the radiator to have it flushed and will install a new fan clutch tomorrow so would like to resolve the water pump part number issue so I can start reassembling and road test before leaving for Macungie. If you wish to chat about this call: 828 262 0393.
