That is still not even close. John listed the proper shipping weights. Loaded with gas and fluids, your car wouldn’t be more than 4,500, unless you weighed it with 4 500 pound guys in the car.DonSent: Wednesday, July 27, 2016 11:40 AMSubject: Re: [Chrysler300] Disc Brake Upgrade OptionsSorry typo 6500? Hi Tony,Possibly I'm reading your post incorrectly but how did you arrive at the "6800 pound car" figure? I'm looking in the Standard Catalog of Chrysler 1924-1990 by John Lee. On page 169 under the 1960 300F series weights stated are:Weight at 4270 2dr HT Cpe-4PWeight at 4310 2dr Conv Cpe-4PI had the AAJ kit on the front of our 300F coupe which I sold a few years ago and also have the same kit on our 300C coupe which we still own. Better breaking than the original drum set up but still leave much to be desired compared to vehicles of today.John Lazenby

Subject: [Chrysler300] Disc Brake Upgrade OptionsHi To All,Want to share my experience (Confessions) with my 300-F conv't front and back brake conversions (SS Brakes) that was done probably 15 years ago.The car stops much better than the original drums but it really is inadequate for a 6800 pound car.The front brakes are 1968 Mustang and the rear is 1988 Ford Turbo Thunderbird. The built in parking brake assembly in the rear brakes never worked right in 1988 and the same is true now with multiple tries at new calipers over the years. The mounting bracket for the rear brakes just failed and is inadequate. The left rear caliper just loosened.Had it fixed and had new pads put in the LR with keeping the damaged rotor for now.I must redo both the front and rear.I have decided on the Magnum Force/Wilwood Brake systems. The table below compare 3 systems FYI.
AAJ Brakes SS Brakes Magnum Force/Wilwood Front Name/Number Front Brake Kit A154-4 Z-140-14227 Caliper 1 Piston 4 Piston 4 Piston Rotor 11" 11 1/4" X .08" 11 3/4" X 1 1/4" Rotor Slotted & Drilled? No Yes Yes Rear Name/Number Rear Brake Kit A155-2 140-10767-D Caliper 1 Piston 1 Piston 4 Piston Rotor 11" 10.5" X .93" 12.9" X 0.81" Parking Brake No Yes Yes Rotor Slotted & Drilled? No Yes Yes The front kit is only distributed by Magnum Force (a Wilwood dealer) and they designed the bracket. The rear kit that we chose will need some modifications since it is for a 8 3/4” rear from 1963 on. My 1960 rear flanges have a different bolt pattern. The kits have been ordered and I will let you know how the projects works out over the next month to so.Tony
