Steve: Go online to: http://www.jholst.net/64-parts-manual/engine-8.pdf Scroll down to Page 9-28 For the picture. While not detailed, the brackets are bolted to the bottom of the block using two extra-long cap screws with spacers or washers under the heads of the capscrews to space out past the rolled-up edge of the steel pan. That rolled-up/stamped -up edge may properly be referred to as the flange portion of the oil pan. Then one bolt through the outer end of the bracket into the base of the exhaust manifold. Spacers or washers would be used to assure a slight upward pressure of the bracket when everything is cold and bolted up. Same on both sides. Then, scroll down to Page 9-45 to see the brackets and spacers described and their part numbers. Items 9-48-77 and 9-48-86. The brackets help support the front end of the exhaust system so that all the weight and dynamic loading does not hang on the manifold-to-block studs and flanges. The rest of the exhaust section may be viewed at: http://www.jholst.net/64-parts-manual/exhaust.pdf Scroll down to Page 9-25 to view the 300K ram exhaust system from the exhaust manifold back. Scroll down further to view the descriptions and part numbers for all components. My friend John Holst’s most excellent website provides letter-car owners with Service Manuals and Parts Catalogs online at: http://www.jholst.net/ Let your fingers do the clicking, beginning with Chrysler 300 resources. Manuals, catalogs, paint data and many other items of interest and importance will be found there. The site is open to the public so your mechanic or other MoPar owner of the letter-car era may address the site and possibly find information on service and parts. Now, finding those parts is the challenge, but if you have a picture and a part number, you are ahead of the game. Thanks to John for creating and populating his own personal website. Best wishes, Rich Barber Brentwood CA From: Anna F Noia [mailto:sa-noia@xxxxxxxxxxx] Rich, Dave's & All Can someone send me a link or a copy of the Parts Book pages referenced for this bracket, Please. From the description, from the "Oil pan bolts" it sounds like it uses the "flange bolts" holding the exhaust pipe to the manifold, a picture is well worth a thousand words. All assistance is GREATLY Appreciated. Thanks in advance. Good point about the brackets that support the exhaust manifolds on the J’s & K’s. Properly installed, they take some of the stress from the connections to the block. In the 1964 Parts catalog: Page 9-25 (Picture) and 9-45 (Description) for Items 9-48-77 and 9-48-86—Brackets and spacers. If spacers are lost, flat washers should work just fine.
