Yes but
choke pull off action is 100 % dependent on heat riser
working right , on both sides ,A characteristic of ram
cars to me is the sound of both heat valves rattling at idle
when brand new ., I remember 383 plymouth ram in station
wagon , 3 speed stick , really fast car , ( despite ugly
beyond belief) ; sound of that part of it , you could tell
ram without opening hood, Also mass state trooper 62 wagons
, same thing . How I know that best left to history

He is not talking about choke parts. The heat riser
parts are what is in
question. In my opinion, it does not matter if they don’t
unwind at exactly the
same time. It would be impossible anyway, as the manifolds
are not the exact
same temperature. On the choke issue, if the choke pull-off
is doing it’s job,
the engine will run smooth while the chokes are moving to
fully open.

Thought about electric , parts from edelbrock afb.
Last F went manual choke
no / minimal heat riser, like J anK . And max wedge .
The problem with
factory 60,61 is they can pull off
at different times, leaving you half choked . And resulting
idle/ stall issues .
Water heated plenum is another way too . I think too much
heat keeps coming even
with thermostatic valve and working
in 60,61
George used to put
restricting washers in
elbows I think he was right . No valve . Perhaps the point
being maybe we
can improve rather than replicate a problematic design ?
Worth talking about
anyway ??

I would
love to see the
heat riser parts reproduced, I've been doing without
for years on my
G. I'm fine when the weather is warm
and I'm using the car,
but the colder it gets, or when starting after long
periods, it takes too long
for the chokes to pull off.

Hi everyone this
is something I'm also chasing, would
there be enough needed to consider reproduction of such by
the club? They are
nearing the end of their life on some cars and nos has
basically run out,
where are the votes? I vote yay,

BOLT P.N.
1736012 Bolt to secure the Heat Riser to the

Now, if someone happens to
have a Repair Kit
for the left side and they are willing to part with it
that would be
even better. It would include all the parts mentioned
above along with a few
more.
The P.N. for the LEFT side
Heat Riser is
2084795.
Of course NOS would be
preferred but good used
will do too.
