This subject is very interesting. Studes use the oil line as a flexible tube first then the piping . It is a known failure issue . Leaks at ends . Bad results , but technically right as flex happens where it should . But after 40 years ?? Steel line can fatigue right where it leaves the fitting from vibration but maybe they figured this out and knowing stiffness of both-- it is ok ?? I have never seen this fail on 300 , but limited sample . I do not like it either . But no easy way to add a bracket ? Tap block before assembly ? I have added oil pressure gauges not trusting the electric one in the F and it is slow reacting . The nylon line they come with I think is really junk . It gets hard , yellow, and cracks off . I have done it with 1/8" copper tubing to 1/8" npt adapters , making a 2" coil of 3 turns of copper at the engine as anti fatigue . Copper worse than steel , but this was common on very old engines . Doing this right now ! same concerns --decided to go with 4-AN stainless jacketed fuel line and fittings one piece end to end . This did not exist in the day ..
