I don’t like to assume things, so what size was the air impact wrench? ½” drive? Did you also use the same air impact tool to tighten the bolt? If so, how did you verify torque on the nut? Any recollection of the air pressure the regulator was set for?

On my 62, Chuck Hill told me that if I bought the cheapest air impact wrench from Harbor Freight (it was $29) it would just fit and would work. He was right.
