I recently installed my rebuilt engine in my G and a problem has been the accelerator linkage. The only part of the linkage that came out was the bell crank, that was left attached to the manifold. I've gone through the adjustment procedure in the manual a few times.
The problem relates to be the rotation of the accelerator shaft. The accelerator pedal to shaft rod moves downward by the forward rotation of the accelerator pedal . This imparts force for forward rotation to the accelerator shaft. The accelerator shaft however seems to need to pivot rearward to operate the carb linkage. Don't see how I get the accelerator pedal to shaft rod to pivot upward at the accelerator shaft bracket arm to impart rearward rotation. This linkage was working fine when I took out the engine .
Thanks in advance for your assistance.
