Has anyone ran into a problem finding the correct replacement of the neutral starting switch for the 64 K 727 with floor shifter?
I just tried a new switch which both the 63 and 64 parts manual called for, 1704 283 and it is much too short to reach the two tangs internally. I even took the washer and O ring off, no dice.
The old switch I took out was short as well! The PO jumped the solenoid so the car started in any gear.
