Hello Folks, Restauration of my 62 Sport convertible has almost reached the turning point and slowly parts are put back together. As I will personally take care of reassembling the dash, I am wondering about integrating any modern (digital) tools for theft protection. So far I heard of gadgets like a fingerprint scanner in combination with the ignition or GPS trackers. Maybe even sensors that will indicate moving or lifting of the car. Or other stuff I don`t even know about. As YOU have the real expensive gems, maybe someone already had the same concerns or worries? Or do you trust in God and the good in people? Or is there no real market for letter car thefts in the US? In Europe borders are close and the car could be gone to the former East Block Countries in 2-3 hours… Untraceable. And what happens if someone opens the hood (damn easy) and cuts off the battery? In this case all electronic systems probably would be out of function. I know it is a big topic (maybe a whole industry takes care about this), but I would very much appreciate your thoughts and experience. During my membership (5 years) I can’t recall of someone bringing up this topic.
