Lanolin is available from Target or Walgreens but it likely expensive in the quantity needed hence GoJo. I used silicone in 2005 and its still brand new today.

The Go-Jo process works pretty well for a gasket that is not split or gouged. I soaked my 300G windshield gasket with the stuff, then placed it in a black trash bag and put it out in the sun for a week. Soft and pliable once I washed all the goop off. Your old gasket with GoJo

Hand cleaner it softens it up.
