RE: {Chrysler 300} Paint? - 300J & RamK removeable fender panels

I echo what Bill said.  I have researched this extensively for the 300J.   While I have found one or two 1963 road test photos indicating body color fender panels, every original example on an actual production car that I have seen appear to have been painted with the same semi-gloss black enamel as used on many of the underhood engine components.   For a dressier appearance, black gloss engine enamel can be used.  Bolts and clips as Bill stated.

Jeff:

My 300 Ram K is Roman Red and the inner fender panels have never been touched.  The removable fender panels are black and the clips and bolts are not painted.  They are black oxide coated from the factory.

I asked this question before but received limited  response.

I've seen these both ways, but not necessarily on ORIGINAL cars.

On 300J and RamK removeable fender panels: Are the panels painted matching body color or are they black.

What about the c-clips for the panel bolts? Body color??...or not ?

Thanks for any help
