I echo what Bill said. I have researched this extensively for the 300J. While I have found one or two 1963 road test photos indicating body color fender panels, every original example on an actual production car that I have seen appear to have been painted with the same semi-gloss black enamel as used on many of the underhood engine components. For a dressier appearance, black gloss engine enamel can be used. Bolts and clips as Bill stated. The removable fender panels are black and the clips and bolts are not painted. What about the c-clips for the panel bolts? Body color??...or not ?
