--I don't have the patience to hammer and dolly a poorly stamped wheel well opening into something resembling what was originally on the car. I would rather do a lot of searching until I found a rust free (or nearly rust free) parts car and have the section I need cut from that car. It involves a lot of emails, messages, photos, phone calls, dead ends, etc. But I eventually find what I am looking for. For example, I needed the passenger and driver's side front floors for my 55 Desoto. I also needed the lower quarter sections behind the wheel wells. I found it all, rust free, or needing minor welding. Prices were reasonable (150 each for the floor board sections; 150 for both sides of the rear quarters. In that case: the guy was going to throw them in the dumpster, since he didn't need them !).Ron

Subject: Re: {Chrysler 300} In need of '60-61 Plymouth quarter panel patches...Ron,Yeah, I know the quality of a lot of patch panels for these cars is lacking, but Ive gotten pretty good with metal shaping and takinging something "inferior" and making it much better. I look at it as anything is better than nothing, and at least a start to shape and make better for what Id need it for. THough, I have seen some patches that I even had to question if they got the application right, as they were super lousy, so I know what you mean.Rob

The vintage patch panels (Schott, etc.) that were produced in the 60s were deliberately created oversize so they could be slipped over rusty metal and then brazed into place. No good.If you are doing anything more than an amateur restoration, you want to have metal cut from original, rust-free cars. Then butt-weld that in to replace the rusty sections. If you are only doing rocker panels, then you may be able to get away with replacement rockers, since the curve is relatively easy to produce.RonOn 12/13/2021 10:22 AM rob bohuslav <sonoramic413@xxxxxxxxx> wrote:All,Im sure some of you may be into the other Mopar brands, so I figured I'd ask here. I know this is a tall order, but Im looking for both left and right '60 or 61 Plymouth lower quarter patches (around the wheel lip etc...). Im not sure if the Dodges were similar from the same years. Ive already tried contacting Black Car, and they cant help out at this point. Thanks again for all the help,Rob--
