Driving our old Explorer wagon home from sking, broke the left side T. Bar loaded all weight possible to RR of vehicle, proceeded home in a blizzard... replaced bar next day a dealership. Still hsbe the old bar/prybar.

Chrysler discovered this issue mid-57 model year. They sold a makeshift pair of foam rubber seals with a nylon tie to seal up the ends, after greasing, until they could release the boot Don mentions. I have a Plymouth TSB that describes this, as well as a pair
of the seals with tie in the original box.
