IIRC, Jim McGowan had several rebuilt for me 20 years or so ago. The diaphragm was replaced and a new cover crimped on . From: John Grady <jkg@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx> These are very similar if not identical (piston part of it ) to those used on 4 speed mopar —- like road runner , cuda etc around 69-70 as anti stall devices , —-but the mount is different . They are being reproduced for those . Some careful rework of the mount foot would seem to get you a functional device , although I have not done that . With AC this function probably gets pretty important as compressor load comes and goes . One BIG heads up , if you grab the nut or screw and start “ adjusting “ it , it has no resistance to twisting torque inside the device and you immediately tear the fragile diaphram , destroying it . You MUST hold the flat on the shaft with a wrench and carefully keep from any twisting it . ( two wrenches ) That is why they are all no good . I did that too long ago . So it may not be the device —-even a new one —- that is “ bad” it is how it was installed .. or adjustment attempted John Sent from my iPhone
