Hi Kurt,
My H had sheet metal screws attaching clips to rocker and front quarters. No rubber pads and I'm pretty sure no sealant on the screws. I don't see any issues with putting sealant on screws if you want but I doubt it will make much difference. You might want to use stainless steel screws but original were not.
Good luck,
Joe

I recently sourced and restored a set of stainless rocker moldings with rear wheel "dog leg" stone guards for my 62 300H and was wondering if Club members might have any installation recommendations?
I have the correct clips (Quirey) but am wondering what type of screws I should use to secure them correctly. Do I need to place any material (e.g., rubber) between the clips and the body? Sealer to prevent water penetration? Etc., etc.
I don't believe my car originally came with the moldings and I am adding them based on personal taste. I'm a bit nervous about drilling holes in body panels and want to make sure I do things correctly!
