I have no expertise in these cars, but I do remember that was about the time that Dual headlights came out.

Some states forbid them so the single HL housing was made available. So, some were delivered with single and some were delivered with dual HL

There was also a problem with multiple taillights.

PA's highway code said all cars had to have a taillight on each side and since it made no mention  of more than one, the extra ones had to be disabled.

The Superbird and Daytona were not sold in MD(at first) as they had no front bumper.

It was a long journey back for this old mind, but I think this is all right.

Ray what I'm stating is that some early cars had no mesh grill wire in the brake ducts but those openings were red and if they did have screens they were also red.  My comment regarding the "grill" is referencing the center grill of the car.

Club member Ken Mack has a very early example that has no mesh on the brake ducts, single headlights and a 120mph spedo along with a non 300C steering wheel.  The VIN on Ken's car is 3N571003.  This is also a 3 speed stick shift example.
