Will depend on the quality of the restoration at this point. Car was done over 20 years ago. I sold the 58 Desoto Firedome convertible that’s in the same auction a few years ago because of the progression of the body work on the car. I knew it would continue to get worse, so I sold. I’ve looked at this car a few times in past auctions, but don’t have my notes in front of me. I’ll be there for sure and if it’s priced right and assuming the condition is still high, I’d be interested for sure. The lowest is goes is around 170, the highest is around 330. I wouldn’t be shocked at either.

Kissimmee gets the best prices for sure, just like BJ in Phoenix in January. Terra Cotta waa 10% of the run I’m told, so very rare. Regrettably, I think we’re aging out here a bit and the market is moving to later stuff and because the Letter cars began to compromise on engines, shared chassis and New Yorker optioned wannabees, I think the pinnacle is 60, ’61 and we fade from there. I’m suspect of auctions these days anyway and if money gets tighter it will bear on the discretionary buyer. My guess is it might make $200k unless the buyer was into the sauce or is trying to impress somebody with foolish money. It only takes one liquored up, paddle happy, wealthy guy. I’ll bet if we members search our souls and pocket books, not many, if any of us, would pay up near $290k as an investment quality F Convertible. Easy to buy, harder to sell. My 2c and worth every penny.
