{Chrysler 300} 300-F - Electroluminescent dash question -

One of my local buddies, and fellow 300 Club member, also has a 300-F coupe. His electroluminescent Astradome dash display looks normal for the first 10-15 minutes he's driving his car and then fades to dim. Playing with the headlight switch rheostat doesn't help.

 

Ideas, on what's causing this malfunction?
