Try putting in a pint of automatic transmission fluid in the oil after the car has been run and is hot. Then drive it around for 30 minutes and then stop and drain all the oil out. Put in new oil. See if the
sound goes away the next morning when cold. May be a sticking lifter. AMSOIL also make a cleaner that folks have used to deal with sticky lifters and valves. Cheap to try and will not hurt anything. On Behalf Of Michael Corrigan I started up K yesterday morning and heard a strange noise. The attached audio may reveal the source of that noise to a better informed person. It seemed to me that it was originating under the valve cover on the driver side of the engine.
I'm hoping that some savvy fellow owner may have a clue!
