Bob saved me from diving into a big hole on this one… Turns out that one MUST have about 100 pounds on the electric seat mechanism for it work correctly in the up and down motion. The two round springs on the thing just place too much
tension on the up-down screw jack ring gear without the weight being correct. I placed a board on the unit on my bench and placed a flathead six cast iron head, a 300K torque converted and a RV2 compressor with bracket on the board then I tried the unit again.
It goes up and down. Learn something new every day. A big thanks for Bob for the heads up. James.
