The balance tube can be removed with rams in place by sliding one or both of the hoses fully onto the tube. It will then lift straight up and out.

New question, can the ram manifold balance tube come off without removing the intake manifold[s]?  If so, are there any tricks to do this without destroying the rubber hoses that connect them to the manifolds?
