Federal Pumps are not the same as the TRW pumps.
In any case, I have not been able to find a source for the scrapers and springs for the 1964 TRW pumps. Without those items it is just a seal job not a rebuild in my opinion. The scrapers wear and the springs
get weak and that has an effect on the low-speed pressure. That is why I am looking at new pumps if one can be adapted. James From: RICK AND DEBBIE CLAPHAM <rixpac@xxxxxxx>
We used to call these 'Federal pumps' they are still available. Rebuilt are less expensive. I rebuild my own pumps. Kits about $45. Sent from my Verizon, Samsung Galaxy smartphone From: 'James Douglas' via Chrysler 300 Club International <chrysler-300-club-international@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx> I have to hand it to the eBay sellers. Many advertise that they are selling a “rebuilt” TRW power steering pump. When pressed and asked if they have replaced the scrappers and springs that all end up saying
no. Just seals and pain. They really also never replace the pressure valve. I love the English language skills of these sellers… I am thinking of ordering one of the Saginaw pumps from Borgeson and seeing if it will work. I am tired of old so-called rebuilt pumps. For a driver, stock looking is not a concern.
