The pump only fills the bowls. If it can keep up with running, it isn't the pump.

The parts book lists the same pump for a 383 2-barrel and the ram cars so they should all have enough volume.

If you have the original style Carter pump, it can be rebuilt.

My 300F sits for long periods and I certainly have to crank it a bit afterwards to have it start but not excessively. I can't remember the last time I had to prime it.

On Friday and Saturday morning it started fine. Then yesterday after the show it would not start from cranking, had to dump gas in again.
