Henry, Thanks for your post, learned something new. I knew the K had to mean something, but had no idea it was a flange profile. All the best for the New Year! Bob J From: henry.schleimer@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxx <henry.schleimer@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxx> “K” stands for the type of Rim Flange Profile design which was the standard for passenger car rims at the time. That profile later changed to “J” or “JJ” which has extra internal ridge/s to help stop the bead collapsing into the center of the rim when you get a flat. So, if you can get the right size rim with a J or JJ profile, you can use that and it is technically safer. Attached is a photo of my 6.5JJx14 rim I used for the 300C (made in 1972). My car didn’t come with its original rims so I had to source from 70’s Valiants instead. K doesn’t stand for Kelsey Hayes. The link says there is a separate Kelsey Hayes stamp. Mine is stamped ROH which is an Australian company. Henry From: 'Bob Jasinski' via Chrysler 300 Club International <chrysler-300-club-international@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx> Noel, Regarding the link on Letter Car Tires, why is “K” stated under the wheel size column for all wheels? Obviously it is wheel width, but I’ve not seen that before when indicating a wheel width, shouldn’t it just be blank like the diameter or say inches or “? Seems odd to me.
