Hello All,
Took my 300B out for the first time to a car show tonight since I got the car driving last year.
On my way home I encountered a brake issue. The pedal got really stiff(like I could only move it 1" without exerting alot of effort) and the car became sluggish under acceleration. When I got it in the garage at home a puff of white smoke came out of the right front and all four wheels were hot to the touch.
I have converted the car to front discs(I didn't throw anything away, relax) and I haven't encountered this issue before. I had a really good pedal on my 15min drive out to the show and then about 10 minutes on my way home.
I have never driven a car without boosted brakes so I am unsure if it's a booster/vacuum issue. Could it be that the push rod for the master isn't adjusted right and its not letting the brakes release fully. When I installed the master it seemed to go all the way back to where it needed to be.
Any insight would be greatly appreciated.
