finally finished installing 68 383hp motor in my 65 belv conv. problem is
the car is a dog off the line, wont even break the tire loose (no posi yet).
when i punch it down off the line it just seems to bog. same thing if i
punch it down at highway speed, bog then really wakes up after the rpms come
up. i have a rebuilt carter avs, tried adjusting the secondary air door too,
resto cam, and 2.76 gears (i know the gearing is hurting me). timing is at
38 btdc. the other problem is the idle has to be set high because when i
put it in gear it looses so many rpm it nearly stalls. is there something
wrong with my tranny? it was just rebuilt too, torque converter is the same
one from my poly 318. any help would be appreciated, at my wits end. thx

Colin-
On my '63 Plymouth fury, 383, I had the same situation, so I switched from a
non-posi 2.76 to a posi 3.90 gears and that made a big difference. However
now, it's all bottom end and no top.
