It should last just fine. I have a truck version waiting for my '65. The
only issues you may have are bearing retainer to bellhousing clearance
(easily corrected with a lathe or with another bearing retainer), and
driveshaft length (also easily corrected). I don't know about the one you
have, but the truck version already has a steep first gear and a still
somewhat steep second gear, so look into your ratios before choosing a rear
end.
