You could have a 10 to 1 set of pistons, and on a worn out engine, you might 
have 60 psi, and on a brand new engine may have 160 psi, it is all going to be 
determined by ring and valve leakage so the question comes down to due you 
have a set of 9 to 1 with no leakage or do you have a set of 12 to 1 with some 
leakage, next thing to figure, do you have a worn timing chain, are the valves 
opening and closing at the optimum time for maximum intake time, and closing 
at optimum time for max compression time, where is the centerline  of cam set, 
is your motor set up for higher rpm where cam timing comes in to effect for 
the opening and closing of valves, the speed of which the engine is being 
cranked will effect the psi reading, as far as I am concerned the only thing that a 
psi reading will tell you is the general condition of each cylinder, if 
someone else has a different oppinion of this please jump in at this point, but a s 
stated befor, I do not beleive that a psi reading on a used engine will tell
